Handmade White Daisy Umbilical Cord Tie. An 100% Cotton baby umbilical cord tie. Hand crocheted and lovingly made in the UK.
This listing is for one umbilical tie.
This handmade umbilical cord tie is a traditional, more eco-friendly and gentle alternative to plastic clips used on your baby's umbilical cord at birth. They also make the perfect keepsake.
It is made from 100% Cotton yarn, enabling it to be sterilised before use, and is more comfortable than a clip for your newborn. The cord is approximately 25cm-30cm long, with a flower at one end, and a leaf at the other.
Before use, boil in water for 5-10 minutes and place sealed in a new freezer bag (still wet), into your freezer until labour begins. If you are having a home birth, you can boil the tie in early labour and leave it in the pan until it is needed.
All umbilical cord ties come packaged with a backing card with instructions for use and care. All cord ties will be boil washed before sending.
We also offer the option to have a matching Mama bracelet, made from the same 100% Cotton yarn, with a matching motif. This is perfect for newborn photoshoots, and as a keepsake as your baby gets bigger. This is not for use or wear by children.
This is not a toy and so should be used under supervision. It is recommended that your midwife or doctor should fasten this tie for you to ensure it is tied appropriately. This is not a medical grade product. We recommend that you speak to your midwife or birth expert about whether this tie is suitable for you.
Please note that the Mama Bracelet is not a toy, and should not be worn or used by children. It is a choking and strangulation risk.
If you have any special requirements or time restrictions on your order, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Please check sizes and colours before ordering. As each item is made to order, we can unfortunately not accept returns.
